At the CD/instruments shop in my place

I bought the "Forevermore" album yesterday, and I´ve been listening to it since this morning.
I took a "Forevermore" day off today, so I can listen to it all day long!
The album is amazing ... very rich in variety, very impressive from the first to the end, much more interesting than the last album. I really love it!
I feel something new, more bluesy ... and Doug's guitar play is much more interesting than "Good To Be Bad" album.
I think this is the best album about Doug's playing in his career.
I like "Steal Your Heart Away", "Easier Said Than Done", "I Need you", "One Of These Days", "Love Will Set You Free", "Forevermore", ... everything!
I'm sure this will be my best album in 2011. I get a lot of energy from this album.
I really look forward to hearing these songs live! Thanks for great music!!

Hey Doug and all,

Got the album this morning and the Classic Rock fanpack. Haven't stopped playing it!

I loved GTBB and still do but I agree with you totally about this being Doug's finest playing,Yuki. The whole band sound brilliant (the new guys are amazing!) and I also really like the diversity of the album.

My favourite track is 'Forevermore'- I think it's one of the best WS songs ever, both David's vocals and the music really touch me.I also really like 'All Out Of Luck' ,'Steal Your Heart Away and 'Easier Said Than Done'.No doubt a few others will become favourites as I get to know the songs more!

Thank you for all the work you put into bringing 'Forevermore' to us,dear Doug,and congratulations to all of you on a superb album.Can't wait to hear some of the songs played live!

Ive had the mixes on my computer for a while as you can guess, but I just got the real CD the other day and the sound is much better than on my computer. I buy so much music on line, but the real CD still wins I think.

Thank you for the Forevermore album. I bought it from iTunes first and hopefully I get the Classic Rock Fan Pack next week. I LOVE all the songs, the album is really versatile and no wonder Doug called it a labour of love.
DC is my nr. one singer after all these years, he always sings staright to my heart. The band sounds great, wouldn't believe there is new players. At the moment my fave song is Forevermore, the acoustic version is simply perfect.

Looking forward to the CD, through iPhone it doesn't sound so good of course. Maybe I'll buy the vinyl too.

Received my Classic Rock fanpack on Saturday, I was so happy I could have kissed the Postie

Put it on straight away and I have to say I LOVE IT.
My faves at the moment are "Forevermore", "I Need You", "Steal Your Heart Away", "All Out Of Luck", "Easier Said Than Done" and "My Evil Ways"

I also agree with Carol and Yuki that this is some of your best work Doug, you've done a brilliant job

can't wait for June even more now.

You said the right thing Yuki! The PLAYING is great. It's probably much better than the last record, but I probably got another vision as being a musician.. I thought that the production and the mixing aren't that great as the last album, in my opinion.. the whole album is so muddy, the guitars are scooped comparing it with GTTB and I think that this new kind of productions are killing the music a bit. It's not that "fresh" in this sense.. I don't know if you can understand what I'm sayin', you know..
In my modest opinion, this record could be compared with an Alter Bridge record (that I think it's a real great band, but I never liked the production at all in all their three records), yeah it's a great band with great ideas, with great guys etc.. but then live they don't have those sounds, they don't have that "stoutness"... I'm more into "sounds" vision at this point, I thought that Forevermore would probably be better than GTBB in these terms.
I'm not disappointed 'cause the playing is really great, it's rough, powerful, HEAVY in some cases.. it's also soft in other cases.. and that's the reason why I like it, but the production hasn't satisfied me so much, that's why sometimes I like to hear the demos...

Thanks for your honesty man. Give it time though brother. GTBB was very immediate and this one takes more time, but it lasts longer. Down the road, it will be a favorite.
Of course in hind site you could make improvements on any record ya know? With Forevermore, it is big sound I guess. Once I pass off my work, it gets mastered
by a mastering engineer in LA. He definitely makes the records bigger sounding. Thats the way.

I also like the rawness of this record. GTBB was very precise and this one is more open.

I think it's a big step up from GTBB. Everyone has picked up on the huge sound on this album; I wasn't able to put my finger on what it was that made it sound bigger than GTBB but now we have an explanation

I had put it down to having all the musicians available from the off, unlike last time out with Reb on the road, for instance.

I'm not a musician (unless you count my lousy attempts to play barre chords LOL!) but I got into this one straight away... I don't find it muddy. Mind you I like the Alter Bridge albums too - but if anything, I thought 'ABIII' was too similar to 'Blackbird'. That's not the case here; it sounds like Whitesnake, but sounds new at the same time. Also, speaking as a self-confessed Metalhead, perhaps it's that heaviness to the sound I like (!)

I reckon this will be their most successful album since '1987'; in fact I'd go as far as to say it's the most coherent 'band' album in 30 years. Whereas with some previous records you got the feeling Whitesnake was really 'David Coverdale and company', here it really comes across like a team effort. That's why I think it's getting such positive feedback - trouncing Britney in sales as I understand!

I concur...

The album's been on repeat since it arrived in the post...

For me, it surpasses GTBB, which is a cracking record in its own right. But this; it just feels and sounds so damn pure... warm, even. Magic! And that title track.... man, it's just heavenly. The whole band come together so wonderfully.

I'm extremely proud to own this album, that's for sure! And damn right you should be proud too, Doug

Doug,

Just listened to the new cd on aolmusic.com and although I'm sure I'll have more to say as I listen to it more, my first impression is this. Me and Matt and James and his gf Rachel are going to see you guys on May 20th in Biloxi, if you all decide to not play anything off the 87 record or Slide it In or SOTT, and you only play the album Forevermore it will be fine with me, its that good and easily one of the best albums I've ever heard.

It's a stunner of a record. I know you're proud Doug, and should be. GREAT SONGS...something so lacking in a lot of rock these days. The writing AND the playing are just killer. Can't wait to hear this stuff live May 20th in Biloxi!

Downloaded the new record for my blackberry at a little past midnight last night and got the AKG headphones on asap and stayed up way too late listening! Got my hard copy this morning at FYE. Have to agree with you Doug on the production . There is an "honesty", more of an "in the room with the band" feel on this record. The openess is friendlier to my ears. In regards to Stefano's point, alot of record really get crushed in the mastering process. Knee capped, and over compressed going for a loudness factor that has become the norm of late. They lose that natural feel. I'm really digging what you guys did here. It feels like the records I cut my teeth on. GTBB is a fave also for it's own reasons. Thank you guys for giving me something I haven't had in a long time.... the anticipation, the truly counting of days until a record release. Now just counting the days until May 20th in Biloxi. I have a gig up in the delta right before the South Haven, MS show , and I am going to try to make that one as well. Summing it up, way to go brother! See ya soon... James

Just opened my new Forevermore CD + DVD and man, this is all I have been waiting for since Good To Be Bad...great songs and great lyrics with an old school feel!

Thank you Doug and Whitesnake, this album's gonna be the album of the year and I'm gonna cherish this for the rest of my life!

For me it is the best album in the history of Whitesnake,just to kneel down.

Just changed my underwear after hearing Whipping Boy Blues for the first time haha!
Seriously this is an unbelievable album and maybe the best WS album ever. Gotta love the big sound.

Can't say enough about the new album! Doug you've really outdone yourself this time. Tone, phrasing, Forevermore has it all. Can't remember the last album I've bought that made me want to put the window down and drive a little faster. You guys have brought something special to the rock world that has been missing for a long time. Can't wait to hear these new tracks on the road. Great job Bro !
